I am a fully trained and passionate General Practitioner. I work at the Centre for Health and Wellbeing and in the northern suburbs of Adelaide.
I started my medical training in India in 1994 and after graduation, worked in family practice before immigrating to Australia in 2006. I moved with my family to Australia in 2006. After a short stint at Mount Gambier, decided to move to Gawler, SA in 2007. Since then, I have worked as a rural GP in Gawler, working in a local clinic and have also been closely associated with Centre for Health and well being for almost 8 years now.
I attained my Fellowship in General Practice (FRACGP) in 2010 and completed a Diploma in Child Health in 2011.I have done Several training modules with Australasian college of nutrition and environmental medicine (ACNEM) inc women health and menopause updates, Institute of functional medicine USA (primary certification) and also Bio balance Health Australia. Recently I have completed training with Shine SA in sexual and reproductive health (certification awaited)
Since I belong to the land of Yoga and Ayurveda, my approach to General Practice has always been holistic and integrative.
I feel that preventive and holistic evidence-based approach is critical to appropriate management of all health issues. Given a right mix of conventional and nutritional interventions, our body has a remarkable capacity to heal itself. I believe that patients have a right to feel heard and supported. I am especially passionate about women’s health.
On a personal note, I have a wonderful family – a supportive partner, who is just as passionate about integrative medicine, and a loving 22-year-old son.
I am very passionate about mind-body medicine and believe in integration of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual approaches for attainment of our highest state of optimum wellbeing.
