Dr Jaswinder Kaur
MBBS FRACGP DCH
I am a fully trained General Practitioner. I work at the Centre for Health and Wellbeing and in the northern suburbs of Adelaide.
I started my medical training in India in 1994 and after graduation, worked in family practice before embarking on a one-year Fellowship in Emergency Medicine in 2004. I moved with my family to Australia in 2006 and after a short stint at Mount Gambier, decided to move to Gawler, SA in 2007. Since then, I have worked as a rural GP in Gawler, working in a local clinic here as well as in the Emergency department of the Gawler Hospital. I also provide care to nursing home patients in the local area.
I attained my Fellowship in General Practice (FRACGP) in 2010 and also completed a Diploma in Child Health in 2011.
Since I belong to the land of Yoga and Ayurveda, my approach to General Practice has always been holistic. I have furthered my interest by training with Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine by completing their primary course and am planning to do further training.
I feel that preventive and holistic approach to health management is critical to appropriate management of all health issues. Given a right mix of conventional and nutritional interventions, our body has a remarkable capacity to heal itself.
My interests in general practice include women’s health, hormonalimbalances (Thyroid, Adrenal), gut health, paediatrics and all routine medical care including pap smears, chronic disease management and antenatal care.
On a personal note, I have a wonderful family – a supportive partner, who is just as passionate about integrative medicine, and a loving 15 year old son.
I am very passionate about mind-body medicine and believe in integration of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual approaches for attainment of our highest state of optimum wellbeing.
I look forward to working with you.
